Submission Guidelines

These guidelines have been put together to provide contributors with specifications on how to submit pieces of work for consideration to appear on Fervr.net.

We openly welcome written Christian articles, reviews (music, movie and games), videos and photography submissions. We also are keen to hear any suggestions.

Although we love reading your submissions, we can’t guarantee that we will publish them all but will do whatever we can to ensure it gets reviewed.

Please email your work polished, edited and ready to be published if we do decide to run it online.

The legal stuff

• We are looking for work that is good for youth and that glorifies God. Under no circumstances will we publish offensive content or pieces that go against our beliefs.
• In submitting your article, contributors must agree that their work may be subject to further editing and cropping to suit Fervr’s style.
• All work must be original, your own and should not violate any copyright laws.
• All content is appropriately credited to the author. It reflects the opinion of the contributor and not Fervr as a whole.
• We appreciate accuracy and ask that all facts are correct and no material is slanderous or blasphemous in any way.

How to submit

All submissions should be emailed to Fervr’s editor Richard Beeston (editor@fervr.net). Send text-based articles as a plain text file (.txt), or as a word document (.doc or .docx).

Please include the following information in your email:

• Your full name
• Your contact details (phone number and email address)
• Short description about yourself
• What you are submitting
• Where and when your photos or videos were shot (if applicable)

Written Articles

• Keep your articles between 500 and 700 words in length
• Write at a level suitable for our audience (8- to 18-year-old Christian youths)
• We publish Christian feature articles and reviews (music, movie and games)
• All non-text submissions should be submitted as an attached zip file. Please upload large files such as high-res photos and videos to a file-hosting site such as Dropbox or Yousendit.

Photography

• We accept photographs in .tiff, .raw, .psd and .jpeg formats
• Please aim for high-resolution shots, although you can submit any size
• Set your photographs to a minimum of 300DPI so they look their best
• Colour and Black/White photos are accepted. Colour is our preference
• Do NOT compress your files anymore than needed
• Please let us know if you do not want us to edit your photos

Videos

• The video length should not exceed 10 minutes
• Please aim for a 720p high resolution video setting for sharp quality
• Upload your video to a free host site such as dropbox.com and send us the URL for download (DO NOT send us videos as attachments)

We also accept combined works of writing, photography and/or video. If you would like to collaborate with friends, why not get together and submit a group piece?
